They weren’t allowed to play their “Boo Radley” game anymore nor try to get him to come outside. However, before they were able to accomplish this, Atticus, Scout and Jem’s father, caught them and told them to leave Mr. Jem and Dill finally start to include Scout in one of their plans to get Boo Radley to come out of his house. At this point in the book, Scout has become very close to Miss Maudie because Scout and Dill have been leaving her out of the games they have been playing.
The colors of the cover are green and orange but they aren’t very bright, and right now in the book it is the middle of the summer, so I’m thinking when school starts up again in the fall something interesting will be happening because the cover has more “fallish” colors. The fact that there is a tree on the cover and a lot had been happening around this tree leads me to believe that this tree will have a significance later on in the book.
Jem and Scout found two pennies in the whole of the tree one day. In front of Boo Radley’s place, Scout has been noticing gum in the holes on this one tree in his front yard. After reading more of the book now (about 20%) of it, The tree on the book cover has more of a significance now. The cover of the book doesn’t really give a ton of information about the book right off the bat.
